This is an amazing place to grab sushi. The atmosphere is very inviting, tables on each side, one for the habatchi-eaters and one for the sushi-lovers like us. The staff is so friendly, service is great as well. Appetizers offered include steamed broccoli, vegetable soup, steamed shrimp dumplings, and chicken yakitori. Portion sizes are perfect, not too large but good enough to get the tastebuds geared up for some fabulous sushi. Shogun offers a great roll selection, and have also added some new rolls we have yet to try. Favorites of ours include the Butterfly, the Red River, Crunch, and Ocean City. The Butterfly roll has a hearty amount of lightly crunchy spicy tuna inside, and layered with yellow tail and salmon sashimi outside with a dab of thai chili sauce on top. We have to say the fish on top is so fresh and tender, almost melts our mouths as we top of the flavor with a sip of Kendall Jackson chardonnay. The spicy sauce on top really enhances the fish flavor as well. The Butterfly a fabulous roll with a tasty variety of fish and flavors. The Red River roll contains king crab and crunchy tuna, as well as thinly sliced rare tuna on top. The crab in the middle is sweet, fresh and compliments the tuna taste very well. The crunch adds a kick to the fish flavors and the different textures of the tuna and crab go great together. Both are excellent rolls, and Shogun has many more that sushi-eaters will love to indulge in. We highly recommend Shogun to anyone who loves sushi because this place knows how to make the best rolls.
Shogun is located at 15 Alafaya Woods Blvd # 107 on the corner of Mitchell Hammock and Alafaya Trail.
